PDF2TXT (PDF to Text) is an extremely fast converter to create plain text and HTML files from PDF, HTML, and Microsoft Word documents. It supports the new PDF1.8 file format, and can read documents in more than 20 different languages, including those with double-byte characters. The layout of the text file reflects the layout of the original text in the PDF document.
PDF2TXT includes a batch conversion capability, allowing you to open a number of PDF files and convert all of them to either text or HTML with just one click. It will allow you to open any encrypted or password-protected PDF file, and will easily extract the hidden text layer of PDF files and create a text file with it. It can also extract metadata from the original PDF document, such as subject, author, keywords, security options, and more.
Microsoft Word, HTML, and even Excel files are also supported, giving you the possibility of creating faithful TXT and HTML files out of any DOC, RTF, HTM, HTML, or XLS document.
The interface is small and very simple, offering you a number of useful output options for better conversion results. This compact and efficient tool supports all Windows platforms, and can read text files created in DOS/Windows, Unix, or Mac.
